past holiday

Only today, surfing through the ontd_spnparty, I understood why there are so many gifs with fireworks. I am an ignorant bitch. Sorry, ppl!

Congratulations on the 4th of July, Americans (that’s gone now but still)!!

We had our holiday too the previous day – on the 3rd of July. It’s called Independence Day, but it’s a total crap. It was the day when our capital (Minsk) was finally free from the Nazi (year 1945). I don’t see this as a national red-letter day called “independence”. Btw it was not about Independence – it was like a “9th of May – 2nd take” (9th of May – is an official Victory day).
So there was a perfect irony. Because there was a football game that day (July the 3rd) where the Germans won. So a bunch of teenagers with German flags singing German songs interacted greatly with the patriotic Soviet music and the whole celebration “we-freed-~~Lucifer~~our country-from-the-Nazis”.
I lol’d. Really.
Anyway it was a great day and I hope you, my American friends, had your fun too.

(no subject)

Haven't been here for a while but I'm still alive! My laptop's almost dead so now it's being reanimated and I have to use Internet on my work computer (my home PC is dead too. shit).
I'm trying to work on my coursework but it's only 5 days left till deadline and I still haven't finished the analyses. Not to mention other parts.
Don't know how to manage all that. But I'll try.
In July we'll have a fandon meeting in Minsk (Belarus), where belorussians and russians will see each other. Oh how I love them. So now I'm making a promise. If I defend my work on the 8th of July then I'll participate in two-days meeting with fandom friends. They're gonna rent the house and have a great party here. God help me please I want it so badly!

So let's hope for the best.
I just want it to be over! (c) Studying I mean:)
